Opt-Outs

When a recipient unsubscribes from your messages, their contact numbers will be immediately added to an opt-out list. The customers in the opted-out list will no longer be able to receive any messages from your business.

Your campaign message should include an easy to use method to opt-out and Webex Interact enables you to do this via keyword replies or by webform.

You can add an opt-out method in the message composer:

Managing opt-outs

- Automatic Opt-Outs: If a contact texts into your account with an opt-out keyword (e.g., 'STOP' via your free keyword, to your SMS or WhatsApp number) then that contact's phone number is automatically added to your opt-out list.

By default, any opt-out received on an Interact number is added to the opt-out list against that Interact number only i.e., you can still send messages to that customer using other Interact numbers. This enables you to provide an option for customers to opt out of specific types of messaging from your business instead of a complete opt-out.

Alternatively, you can choose to configure an Interact number to apply opt-outs against your entire account by selecting "Enfore account level SMS opt-outs" checkbox in opt-out section on manage number page. This will ensure that any opt-outs received against this Interact number will not receive any messages from the account.

Additionally, if your contact visits your web opt-out form and submits their phone number, this will also add their phone number to your opt-out list. Opt-outs received via web opt-out form will no longer be able to receive any messages from your business.

*Note: Opt-outs received via web form are applied to all messages that you send irrespective of how your Interact number has been configured.

- Manual Opt-outs - If a contact opts out via an alternative channel (e.g., email, phone number, or website), it's essential to add them to the opt-out list manually. Additionally, ensure that opted-out contacts are removed from your databases to prevent their information from being included in future uploads.

Note:

  • Sender/Profile Mapping: While importing opt-outs, you can choose the Interact number/WA profile to which the opt-outs should be applied. This mapping ensures that the specified Interact numbers/WhatsApp profiles do not send messages to the contacts in the opt-out list.

  • All Numbers purchased through **Interact **support "STOP" and "UNSUBSCRIBE" by default. Any number responding to an Interact number with STOP or UNSUBSCRIBE will automatically be added to the account's opt-out list.

  • You can also add additional keywords (such as END, CANCEL, etc.) to help customers unsubscribe from unwanted SMS messages in the opt-out section of the Manage Number page
