Before you look to run a successful SMS or WhatsApp campaign via Interact you will need to upload your customer contact information. This can be done from your Dashboard.

A list in Webex Interact stores customer contact details in one place. You can create a list by uploading a file or pasting numbers or contacts.

Firstly, select Contacts, then click on Lists, then Create list.

Upload a CSV or XLSX File

You can upload your customer details as a CSV file or you can paste a list of numbers.

We do recommend using the number format (+) then country code, so if it is a UK number it would be formatted as +447234567XXX for example.

  1. Go to Contacts > Lists > Create list.

  2. Click "Browse" and select your CSV or XLSX file.

  3. Name your list, then click Import File.

  4. Map your data – Once you have uploaded the group you will be taken to the mapping page. Match columns (e.g., Phone Number, First Name) to Webex Interact fields. This is where you can map your column of data to specific headers. This helps you personalize message content when creating your campaigns.

Phone Number or WhatsApp Number are essential columns. You can also add multiple columns of information mapped against a number, such as first name.

When you are happy with your column headers and the mapping you simply click on Save mapping.

  5. Once processed you will then be taken to a screen that will give you options on how to handle duplicate data: (merge, skip, or import as is).

  6. Select from the options above to choose your preference and click on Confirm processing.

After your list is imported, you will receive an email to confirm your upload is complete.

Paste numbers

To create a list from copying from a data sheet, copy and paste your phone numbers ensuring that there is one number per line.

  1. Go to Contacts > Lists > Create list.

  2. Choose Paste numbers option and paste phone numbers, ensuring one number per line.

  3. Click on Save number as and select Phone Number or WhatsApp.

  4. Click on Confirm processing to start the import process.
Now your list has been successfully uploaded, you will be notified via email.

Paste contacts with additional fields

  1. Go to Contacts > Paste contacts

  2. Paste contacts, including additional fields (e.g., John | Schh | [email protected] | +447735736XXX ). Separate fields using comma (,), semicolon (;), or pipe (|).

  3. Map contact details to existing fields or create new custom fields.

  4. Choose how to handle duplicate data before uploading.

Once the process is complete, your list has been successfully uploaded, you will be notified via email.
