An SMS keyword is a word tag that customers text to a phone number or an SMS shortcode. With the help of a dedicated phone number or a five- or six-digit short code (like 12121), customers can communicate with your business using these SMS keywords.

For instance, if you want your customer to join in to avail the offer, send “JOIN” to ABC, the SMS keyword is JOIN.

You can create opt-in keywords by navigating to the “Opt-ins >Create Opt-in” section. Create a keyword to allow users to opt-in to your SMS updates.

For example, let us use the word “START” as our keyword. Let’s create the opt-in keyword for a dedicated phone number. You can add both single and double confirmation to your SMS keyword as per your needs. When a customer replies to your number with the keyword “START”, they will then start receiving updates from your business.
