SMS shortlinks are shortened URLs used in text messages to direct recipients to a specific webpage or online resource. This helps reduce the length of the URL to a shorter, more manageable format. It can also add tracking and analytics so you can see how many times it has been clicked.
How do I create them?
In the Quick Send box on your dashboard, or when creating a Campaign, at the bottom of the Compose message box, you will find a few different icons. Select the third along from the left which looks like this:
After selecting the icon, complete the following screen by entering:
Shortlink title– this for your reference in the platform only.
URL link– paste the full URL of where you want to direct recipients.
Tags (optional)– If helpful, you can categorise each short link by giving it a tag.
Track user-clicks on shortlink– When enabled, this option allows you to measure the effectiveness of your SMS campaign by tracking URL clicks of your customers.
The shortlink has been successfully created and will appear within the message box.
You can use a previously made shortlink URL again by clicking on the same icon when creating a campaign and selecting Use existing.
